Playdemy - Helping kids build for the future, through Play
I have been involved in volunteering some of my time as a professional video game designer/developer on the Nepris Platform.
Nepris connects educators and learners with a network of industry professionals, virtually, bringing real-world relevance and career exposure to all students. Nepris also provides a skills-based volunteering platform for organizations to extend education outreach, and build their brand among the future workforce.
The teacher from the school approached me to help guide these kids who were building an app for Samsung Solve Competition, and I was able to get online with these students and share some thoughts on what they had and how they could approach the challenge.
They were using Code.org app builder for a quick prototype, as most of them did not know how to code a fully standalone App. But the teacher shared their proof of concept, that they have submitted to the competition.
Talking to students and educators is a great experience, and the scale of problems they are looking at is very interesting. I believe large corporations need to work with educators, through platforms like Nepris and Playdemy.co and share their insight and lend a hand to fill the gaps our educators and students need to build systems and institutes of learning.
